I think of a place of peace and love and connection to the All
and being able to talk about these things with others and share ideas and God's Light

I think of the present church I am attending: music that touches me and helps me feel closer to God. Messages that can be about anything, but God speaks to me through them. I am sad that "church" brings bad memories for many.

I agree with what your saying but I also see a place where people come together out of love for God and each other. Although it doesn't have to be called a church. Faith is a private matter...

as has already been said, the "church" is actually the people, not

the building...you can have "church" anywhere...

and some "church buildings" are just monstrous memorials....

I think of the people inside....for the building means nothing.
Our faith and firm belief in the salvation bonds us together as a family.  when I here your description or perception...I read the words of an outsider looking from afar.  Come inside, meet the people, and then see things differently.

It's really not a building
or an institution. I think of "church" as the entire body of believers across the world, various denominations. I think humankind has morphed Christ's idea of the church into a building where people meet to worship and like "religion" it has become more world-like than God intended.

I think of
I think of lives saved like mine was, I think of neighborhoods coming together, I think of little girls in their new Easter dresses, I think of a oneness with God, a oneness of country. After 53 years of running wild and 47 years of addiction wiped clean by His Grace, I think of possibilities...I think of good things...Utah Jay...good post.

I think of an ex-employer. Church was his last name. He was a hard task-master, but I sure learned invaluable experience while working for him.
