Never heard of this guy, but love the first few words he wrote

he truely has a writer's heart and that always touches my heart. and I love watching people, its great fun, I have been meaning to add a camera to people watching I bet i would get a few pretty interesting pictures.

I think I will do it next time I have a chance and post the pictures here, lol it should be interesting.

Clearly here's another one that's passed me by, or I him, whatever...I shuddder at the thought at contemplating the legions of fine authors I've missed already, and the many more I will miss...

I never did hear of that writer but I never bought a Harper's either. Oh I do love sitting and watching people though and my youngest son David lives in Seattle.

I like that watching people-thing.  Much better than TV most of the time.
I don't think I've ever read Barry Hannah.  I'll have to see what I can do about that.

I adore his quote ....Wiley often looks at me and says Hellooooooo
is anybody in there!!!!!! and the embarassment recently in a shop when a sales person waited patiently for me to finish inspecting an item for sale, before he crossed over in front of me.......I had gone to Zorg of course; wasn't inspecting anything.

It is a gift to discover a fine writer!

I have not heard of Barry Hannah, thanks for sharing this!

One of my personal favorites is Mark Helprin--highly recommend a search on him if you are not familiar with the name or his work.  He writes much in the genre called Magical Realism, and his way with words simply stops me now and then to relish a turn of phrase, and smile... even sometimes laugh out loud!
