I never thought of you as a tease, but I've changed my mind...

Just the part you've written here, the bare minimum, is so well written.  I commend you for making it through life in a manner that was probably very difficult, and coming out on top.

Why not just tell it as a story that no one is going to read then
it frees you to write it exactly as you wish, and then you can figure what to do with it. Write, write, write, and see what it becomes. Truth is even a memoir will only be one possible version. It doesn't matter how you tell it. Your siblings will believe what they wish to believe no matter what you write. Let her spark your best storytelling say I.

These are stories that need to be told, no matter what.

As always, I can count on you to come up with images that are soooo perfect......I'm dealing with cockleburrs constantly here at the lake....they're all over my house from catching rides in on my clothes.....many of Margaret's barbs have probably ridden in on your siblings' lives, too......like pus in a deep festering sore, healing never truly occurs (no matter how sweet the dementia made her) until it is released so the irritation can heal from deep within.  Okay, schmarmy (sp?) but you know what I mean......write, write, write......

I understand this very well!

No one becomes a cockleburr without cause.  It was too many years before I realized that my mom made my life miserable because her parents made hers even more miserable.

Maybe you have a need to write Margaret's story.  Maybe your sibs, or at least some of them, need it in the open, as well.  It would certainly change all your lives in some regard, and your family relationships.

I am not so sure about that darling....there are quite a lot of us here at
blogit really interested in real history, real people the people that raised Nations; who struggled and worked and kept their pain to themselves. That is the history that should give us a base to go forward on...to learn from, and to honour the souls that forged a dream. Maybe then we would appreciate more what we have, rather than keep grasping for the next quick fix..the next consumer fleeting pleasure. We know of wars and cabbages and Kings, I for one would love to read some real history.
