Hairy legs
You are right it has been ingrained into our minds as women that we must shave our arm pits and our legs and to not do so is "Yucky". But you are right it is a personal choice one that we ourselves should only be allowed to make. And as one grows older these things do become less important to us/LB

When I was just a child back in the late 40's even before I knew anything about fashion, there was a woman who went to our church who was dark-haired and had hairy arms and legs. Other than that, she was always fastidious, fashionably dressed, makeup perfect, and definitely a looker. The only thing that bothered me, and for some reason it did was that her hose mashed the long dark hairs against her skin. I couldn't stop looking at her legs. I think that the reason it bothered me was that my mom was fair and naturely hairless on her arms and legs. She never had to go to the trouble of shaving her legs.

You've just taken the feminist stand on the issue.
The ones who want women hairless (and men to be clean-shaven) it seems to me are the companies who manufacture razors and depilatory creams.
