I think most husbands have that 'oh my' talent from birth, Pat - but yours may have become honed from listening?? to June.    I'm astounded at the French losing as welling as the Brits.  I suppose that's why they have World Cups.

In a way, I'm glad they ignore me.
It means they're handling things on their own. I've recently developed a talent for nodding and smiling, inserting an "oh my" or a "you don't say" every once in a while, as someone goes on -- and on -- about something vital to them that bores me to tears.  As for the World Cup, I was amazed to see the Brits lose out to the US. I didn't think it was possible.

That's the same idea as I have regarding conversations:  I believe people should start the sentence or remark by stating the other person's name.  That would save a helluva lot of ...'what was that you said's.'

I've come to the conclusion that spouses just don't listen to each other.  The number of times I say, "What was that you said?"

It's unusual to find a person who really listens, especially to a spouse.
