Kabu
It's terrible, of course, but I think it was just case of Murphy's Law...

Kabu, the oil companies like BP are in bed with the govt., and neither
party seems to be in any hurry to stop what will likely become, if it already hasn't, the biggest environmental disaster ever...and almost as an afterthought, how does BP or whoever built this oil rig explain away the 11 deaths as a result?.....

Kabuiepie-;)
A lot of truth there, but it does leave out the fact that perhaps the 'gamble' of drilling is worth the risk and perhaps it isn't all about greed. I think the idea of drilling in the sea is to try and free America from the clutches of the arabian oil  as arabs try to destroy the U.S.A.

I once played a game like that, but it was built a little differently.
It was part of a program we did at work, at a day-long seminar. The chips represented time that we could invest. In the role-playing game, single mothers had the fewest time chips, the least to invest. The time chips were used to buy education chips and location chips. There were (in this game and the big one) fewer "connection" chips to persons of color, and several other factors that reflect economic-political factors that determine how an individual can play the game. Several lights went on in my head that day.

I always wonder at those at the top who gets the best through the means of the lower. If you look at a pyramid, the bigger portion gives the support for the highest and chip off a few at the bottom, then it all crumbles. Someday I believe there will be a reverse Kabu and you have a right to be angry sometimes at life. Just like I am angry at the word democracy, I feel it is all a hypocrisy at the end. A communist regime works better sometimes. Equal opportunities, work relations, immigrants who mess up and give a bad name to the rest who strive for better opportunities, working striving for better relations with countries and each other. Eventually the mess up at the top will be felt by the innocent and those really hoping for a chance at life. And life goes on, all we can do is strive to be a better person and try to live the best we can. Love you.

Don't be angry, Grandmummy.  This too, will be righted.  I love you.  There is a tiny bit more you to read if you like.
