Those double decker buses are something else! When I was in my 20's a double decker bus rolled into town, called Ye Ole London Bus, or something like that. Anyway, it was a christian bookstore. I had met the owner the year before in Portland at a mutual friends' house. It's funny how we met again. He was a good friend and kind person.

It is great to go back in time and remember how it was Kabu. Now you can think back with fondness and know that you are a survivor.

Ah yes, it did bring back memories! The Beatles, of course, still great music, and Timothy Leary - remember him? And we did turn on and tune in, and even dropped out, at least temporarily...and also our great Canadian, Marshall McLuhan who was at UofT, and who belongs to that era...

I was toddling around
my grandparents farm...they called it "the place"... snacking on strawberries whenever I found a ripe one in grandpa's garden. (He always wondered why the strawberries didn't do good.) Oh and I spent a lot of time in my little playhouse waiting for Grandma to have time to come out to read me a story or have a tea party with me, oh and playing with the kitty.

Back in the day wow
I was in nursing school and working part time at the VA in the kitchen and had just gotten married.  Over night drives to concerts and back at work the next day and in class. Parties every week end. One foot on the floor to keep the bed from spinning. Those were the days.

Reading this makes me wonder how I will be looking back at the 1990s.

I am not going to ride that bus again. I don't want to remember a lot of it. Painful! This is a great post. Be blessed.

Kabu, I stayed in school during all that fun.  So I missed most of it, but I'm glad.  I enjoyed those days in my own way and enjoy listening to the 60's channel to bring back the good feelings.

Remember this song?

"Those were the days, my friend,we thought they'd never end,
we'd sing and dance forever and a day,
we'd live the life we choose, we'd win and never lose,
those were the days, oh, yes, those were the days."

I don't think it was sung by Petula Clark, but it could have been. And "Downtown," that's another that puts me in a reflective mood.
