I think Obama is a pretty good president.

The best we've had for several decades.  He has vision and a better outlook and attitude than I have seen since Lyndon Johnson (Jimmy Carter might have been a good president if outside influences hadn't intervened).

Bush and the Republican Congress (along with some Democrats who sold us out to big money interests) have put us in an untenable position.

And yet Obama is treading the same path in many ways as Bush et al. have trod.  Big Business has untold influence over the affairs of our country, and at the expense of regular people.  The Democratic Party has shifted far to the right in many ways and is itself under the influence of Big Business.

Ordinary people don't control our country any more.

Personally I think progressives need to demonstrate their power and leave the Democratic Party (because that party does not represent progressives).

As our resident conservative who has blocked us from commenting on his post points out, it seems our "new boss" is indeed "the same as the old boss".  Yes, I will have to agree with Corbin on that point.  But that doesn't mean we should vote Republican.  It just means that Democrats have, in the main, sold out the progressive component, and that other, more viable poliltical alternatives need to be found.
