I myself am pondering as well...Advice is so important to get. At the end of the day though it is your decision to make.

I always liked the illustrations in my Mother Goose book of
nursery rhymes. But it's the words I remember 60 years later.

well you willknowmy thoughts because I love the way you write and always

read you through to the end...more than once sometimes. Self doubt...the artists disease. Small Children do need pictures I do know that.....I believe they actually help them switch on their imagination as there is so much still to learn. A series of books sounds great, that way you can tell more stories.I believe this is going to be good.

Oh and my mentor once told me....never be precious over your work.....take all help and editing and  at the end all the accolades too. It will always be your book.your idea however it is presented.

Bah, Relief? Wasn't it, BAH HUMBUG!? Mister Dickens! You little dickens!
Taking things in the order that I recall, I'll number them, #1, Imagination. #2, A good novelist, and/or long-winded and obtuse. #3, Overblown sense of self-importance.
#1. A co-worker remarked about the fact that I had worn a sweatshirt to work last Friday, projected to be a very warm day. I directed his attention to the fact that the shirt I wore, was far too large and billowy, for my lithe, lanky, athletically trim, Grecian god-like frame, explaining that when one is naturally muscular and buff, as I am, wearing a properly fitted shirt, makes it appear as though that person is showing off,  attempting to induce envy, in those far less fortunate. Al remarked in return, "Wouldn't it be nice to have a vivid, unrestrained, childlike imagination, like his?" So much for imagination.
#2. Good Novelist, long-winded, & obtuse? Hasn't stopped me yet. Well, except for the good novelist part, anyway.
#3. Overblown sense of self-importance? Not even possible!
