It's interpretation of "prophecy".
Lots of apocalyptic religions have declared this very same outcome leading up to the Second Coming. They have for 1,800 years or thereabouts. It hasn't happened. It is always in the future.
Problem is, there is nothing in the Bible to back up such apocalyptic statements.
