Poignant words... Why do we remember the harsh words... perhaps because when spoken they cut like knives and left scars that time does not fully heal ... Be well xoxoxo

Somehow connected to our feelings, our minds have a way of doing that.

Your absolutely right, why not seek what is good. A little freedom..some breathing room and the flowers have a chance to flourish.

Very poignant! It makes me wonder about the cruelty of man and how it permeates our being! sam

I have a theory about this one... It's the devil blinding us in such a simple way. He takes the mind. It's what turns a man into a monster. If he can get to our minds, reminding us of the bad so we can't see the good we will ask, "What is the point of life? Would anyone miss me when I'm gone? Does anybody love me?" He gets us to doubt all the things that God has told us, given to us, and promised us. It's what he does. And oh how it works all too well. That is why we read God's word. A worship song says this, "All the powers of darkness, can't drown out a single word." God's word is power and the devil does not want us to know it. He wants us to keep our minds weak so that we remember only the ill spoken words instead of remembering no matter what that God loves us, that God thinks that we are special, and that God sent His Son to die for me and you. It's true. And the devil doesn't want us to dwell on those awesome things, he wants us to dwell on lies.  (Sorry it's so long. It just came out)

Encouraging ones
In answer to your cute poem I would think it is because we remember a hurt and forget praise, well I know it is what you are saying, it could  be a built in defensive mechanism ie.   keep away it bites.
