Kabu, you sure do have us people, and the cats, all figured out!
You really do have insight, deep into the places that we normal people fear to visit consciously, because we just might learn that we aren't nearly as normal, as we think we are.
Cats are all crazy, no apologies, no therapy, no guilt, and that is only what is normal for a cat. Trying to figure out the workings of the feline (and female) brain is usually futile. Ask Roy Horn! He doesn't appear to have even slightly succeeded, in either case.

I've never read a better description of passive aggressive trait.
The only way to deal with this manipulative behavior is to walk away from it. Too bad it takes so long to grasp that. And you're right. Cats are not P-A. They're above that.

Cats know full well that they have us under their paws...Reading about passive aggressiveness brings me back to my days as an educational psychology student.

Excellent and of course you are aware I once married a course in Passive Aggression, took my punisment multiplied 5 times over by her fertility without love and finally escaped through divorce. Let's not even discuss the cat. I do love you.

Cat knows better
So interesting Kabu, I have a stray unfriendly cat that rolls over on its back, but won't let me stroke it. I have had to leave the porch door half open all winter and build it an igloo.
I wonder if all this is due to my aggressive behavior. Please keep any analysis private.
