Good commentary.
I would say that most of the pork however is promised to the health Insurance industry in the form of government subsidies. The Pharmaceutical industry got what it wanted by not having to negotiate with Medicare regarding drug costs. This would have forced them to much lower prices. But thanks to Republican betrayal of the American people (especially the elderly), Medicare and any US agency is strictly FORBIDDEN to buy pharmaceuticals and it must be done through private insurers.
