I would NOT stay with that Dr. and be treated that way.
Get another Dr.  One that does't charge you $1 "no matter what".  That right there is a red flag.

I would report that receptionist and whoever else for the rude treatment. They have no right in hell to say stuff like that to you, even if they think it.

They are all about money.  I would have told that woman that if it was not a medical emergency, then you are not comming back in...the doctor can call you to discuss the results over the phone.

I'm so angry with this woman for treating you like this!

Trust in God not your Doctor

I was in bed and for some reason I logged on to blogit. I have been week after I have hysterectomy in December. Not doing well. However. I usually just go to politics and read a few or let off some steam. However, tonight I went to you. I went through the same thing you have been going through, You were correct in being concerned when you were called in. That doesn't happen. Unless the Doctor read your test results and you were called in before he realized you were not covered. The same thing happened to me, the Doctor had made me an appointment with a specialist thinking that I had a blood clot. I went to the specialize and was shocked when the recipient apologized and told me that my Doctor herself had called and canceled my appointment.  that was one Doctor, Latter I had been sent for an pelvic ultrasound and a mammogram. I had been sick for a long time. I was caring for other family members that were dying. I knew I was very sick, and the results would not be good. However. I was told I was fine, reputedly. Had it not been for a couple of nurses putting there job on the line and going out of there way to get me in to see specialist without fererrall, a few good people that made some calls and helped save my life. It took may of 2007 until Dec 2009 to have surgery, because of the paper work fromthe insurance not wanting to pay for specialist because I couldn't get a referral, and the test that were done. had four mammogram, the insurance pays for one. The Doctor that was lying to me ended up quitting, Or was removed from her duties. It was not only her , the Dr that reads the results at the hospital and makes referrals for people such as you and I from The ER. He too was lying to me, after being called from them two times in one day to see if I could come in that day. my knees were week by the time I got there. Before I arrived he noticed my insurance was on SSI and they only allow so many referral a month.. If he had used up his quota of referrals at that time of the month. He could be fined a small fee and it would come from his payday. Great incentive to have. He wouldn't even see me after I had driven down there. He had the nurse to come out and tell me a lie. I could see she was very uncomfortable in her words. She held on to my arm and said let me walk you out. She looked me in the eyes ans with a low voice said. You need a Dr. I said what? She said you need to get a Doctor. Letting me know that I was sick, He had just told her he would see me in 6 months to see if it had grown. I was lucky, because I had Blue/Cross Insurance. They had not put it in the computer at the ER and so I would have been lied to until it was to late for me. She let out a big sigh of relief when I told her I had insurance, She put her hand to her heart and said "thank God" Sometimes I hate my job.

If you read my blogs from the past few weeks, you will see that that SSI card is not all it is cut out to be.

Things do have a way of working themselves out! So unfortunate that you had to go through some bad situations before it was resolved! sam
