Re: Disability Card?
Hello. A Disability card is applied for at the SS office. It is a medical card that people look at as gold.Medicare u are approved for this card you can get treatment for your child that most insurance will not cover. It is almost impossible to get if you have a high income. People have to get divorced at times to get treatment for there child that need special care. That is usually requested by your casr manager. that is sad that you have to separate from your spouse and prove it if, you are working class people. However if you are not, or if you are now low income, it is easy to get if you child is disabled. one of my children was born with Downs syndrome he was automaticly approved from  hospital. He received a check and a card within 90 day's, the reason that is , The dR and hospital will be covered and paid from the day he was treated. Like you, my other child was six before she was disabled, the last set of immunization finished her life as I knew it, though it took a little longer to get her on it , it was maybe 6 or 7 months. This card is also the same card that people get at the welfare office when they apply for food stamps the children are mostly all covered  if you don't make to much money, Though thwew benifits are different for all they basically searve the children and disalbeled. When someones health insurance runs out ofter being disabled is a good temparay health card. the probablem is , they are not informed. Once you are on this card for two years. as you wait to switch over to Social Security Benifets, that is a curse, Quote (Federal Regulations permite Medicade denial to a Doctor, hospital or pharmacy if you have been quilified for medical disability for 24  or more months, even if you are not recieving benifits now.) Meaning if you were disabled than you should be disabled now, However SSI tells you no because your income is too high. This Card that is what the working class people that has been disabled are eligible for is a great card and very hard to get, it is to carry you over until too are able to go back to work or you are 62 and than you change over to SS benefits. That is where "The donut hole' is. This is where The Medicare. SSI benefits stop and you began drawing your SS benefits that will most likely increase your income to 1200.00 or more monthly. most people drawing Disability get between 3 to 6 hundred month, Now this is what you work for all your life, however, that income just put you over the edge of income to be eligible for the medical card you have been receiving disability. Now you have lost your medical card and you are told you have to wait until you are 65 to get your SS medical card, that leaves you uninsured for three years. your options is to do a spend down. Go in delbt for thousands of dollars or wait until you are so sick in the hospital and have an end of life diesseize, than the hospital and Dr will help you reapply for benefits, they will be covered as will hospice. This is an example. My mother had a stroke, she had SSI, she was automatically sent a medical card  part B that pays for all medication, and dr visits and hospital, she had no problem. she is 72, though she is health her cost is very low. My stepped had a stroke 6 years ago, and when he turned 62 , he received his first 1240 SS check, he went to the Dr the week before and was waiting to go into the hospital he had enlarged prostate the number on his test showed the highest levels . meaning the disease that his father and two brothers died most likely has, he has been hospitalizes every year for prostate probably. as he awaited the referrals to be completed and everything set up, He received a letter from the SS office he has no medical coverage, his appointments he had were being canceled and he had no way of even getting his proscription filled. His cost was going to be too high. He is now in the hole that he will never get to the end of,

Disability Card?
I have read many of your past posts about your family members' health taking a downturn. You seem to be saying that you want this healthcare yet you said something about a disability card? What is that? Our daughter has been handicapped since a worthless bitch of a so-called day care babysitter shook her at age 5 months in 1998. Since that time our daughter must rely on us for every daily function. In all of these years I have never heard of a disability card. Seems like you already had help to me. As far as your past posts about SSI and all that D.S.S. stuff...there is a lot more you would have to tell me before I supported your cause. I have dealt with this for years. Many people do not understand it nor what qualifies a person for SSI and the likes.

I Agree!
Our daughter has cerebral palsy and we have the same concerns however no matter what is passed or not we will continue to go to our same doctors. I will not have a government tell me what to do especially when it comes to my children. She will continue to receive the best of care as she does now. I will not stand for anything else. As far as obama, his party and their supporters, they can go to hell. He will not tell me how to live my life. Sooner or later he will pay! Trust me he will.
