The Great Society programs of LBJ included the "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps" programs -- and a lot of today's social agenda does have that. But early on Southern Whites in particular sabotaged efforts by Blacks to make progress in this direction.
As far as your contention that people "are ready to sit around and do nothing to improve their lives", I have seen personally that this can be categorized in the "Welfare Cadillac" myth class. I am talking about the recipients of aid. I have seen the recipients themselves go for work training in order to improve their lives. I have seen their children go clear through post-graduate school in college. I have seen private social service agencies, where "opposition" politics from conservatives isn't an influence, do a whole lot more than government agencies who are so hamstrung by paranoid conservatism.
And, as far as God is concerned. I guess you think the priests involved in liberal movements are godless?

Key word here is USUALLY! This life pal. You suffer the consequences when you make bad decisions. Who in the hell told you that there would be someone here to support you no matter what mistakes you make in life? Who? Liberals hate authority, especially God, yet they are ready to sit around and do nothing to improve their lives. Yet again you all see where the 60's movement is now hit with problems that they started and now they are wanting solutions. HA! If your life has not gone this way then why don't you tell all of those minorities that you spent so much time with in St. Louis how to make it in life? Or do you just tell them to call ACORN? You forgot the "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" part and be responsible for your own self.
If liberalism was not such a threat to our society, then it would be on its' own Comedy Channel!

simple RSM: you don't live under those circumstances so you don't know. You may think you know and you may talk like you know, but you don't know. Girls and women don't have babies to get money usually. They usually don't intend to.

Society's Responsibility, Once Again
It is a fact that black women have 49 out of 1000 abortions and this was back 10 years ago. Now you say we need to pay for health care so they can have more then turn around and pay for their abortions as well. Your political party believes in absolutely no responsibility from any citizen at all. Black women in America have no excuse for not being educated about this topic. NONE! What a political thought process, we have here. Completely insane!
Try this 100% hypothetical scenario. Gee, Xman, I can't pay my credit card bill because I completely lack any sense of responsibility...by the way Xman...I am 18 years old and I got my 14 year old girlfriend pregnant because I completley lack any sense of responsibility please pay for this for me... gee, Xman, I just can not hold a job because I can not fit my job into my drug abuse, can you pay me to sit around the house and smoke pot all day!
Get the liberal thought process? It is ignorant! This type of belief makes me puke! This is exactly what is wrong with this nation and it is also exactly the type of thought process that we have in Washington today; a bunch of ignorant idiots!
