I am so glad you enjoyed it Ciel, and I think you are right about Peg. She had a rare sense of humour.

I just took a pleasant amble through your garden...
Enjoyed it every step... And I don't doubt for a minute that Peg was there...

TAPS.
Probably everything except peace and quiet, Taps. But I could demand the peace and quiet from all of my fans so that I can take another 73 years to write my next novel.

Re: johnmacnab
I'm sure that once you are #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list, you will be able to afford just about anything.

TAPS.
When I see all the books on the best seller list written by the same author, Taps, I go through a phase. First of all I think it must get very easy after the first one, and then I finish up by convincing myself that once they've had the first one, they can afford to have a team of writers writing the rest.

It must get easier as one goes along. I keep seeing books written by authors who have long lists of other books they've written, and all on New York Times Best Sellers lists. One would do me just fine. LOL

More like a ginormous lump of granite, Pat. I've got a contract with a local fork-lift truck company to clear up at the end of the month.

Azur
You should love the title, Azur - it is a quote from a certain Australian writer and journalist. Taped on my monitor, just below the screen, are the words - Write now, worry later. Write now, polish later. Editing? Start Anywhere.' Thank you for those words.

I'm beginning to think the first draft is but a piece of marble...
The story reveals itself as you chisel away at it with your editing tools. Keep the shop vac handy...
