Love the big gnarly trees and this one has such a beautiful chunky burled knot -  as you say, Bruised but not beaten.  I say this one is a Victor.  Elyse

I like the way we can tell there were some more branches on that tree.

I just scrolled back, and saw EVERY picture you have posted! WONDERFUL!
Shadylady,
What a talented photographer you are! I know where of I speak. I've been taking photos since I can remember, and can recognize quality when I see it. Your grasp of composition and framing of a shot, are awesome. Most of my photos were taken on ectachrome slides, for accurate color reproduction, but were improperly stored in a leaky outbuilding and lost, but for my memories of them. I do have many dramatic shots taken in New Mexico and stored on discs, that I would love to post on blogit, but don't know how to do so. Keep up the good work, these are professional quality artwork, but I assume you have been told this many times already.
Thank you for a pleasurable tour of some of the places you have been, and actually saw and appreciated the beauty, that most people walk right past without noticing. That takes a photographer's eye, and you sure have two good ones.
