Re: TAPS
You're right TAPS.  Finally!  Two articles under John MacNab on Constant Content.  Now all I have to do is wait until someone buys one - huh!.....oh, and keep on writing.

Re: TAPS
No, no, johnmacnab.  It may take ten times, but eventually it will be worth all the effort.

TAPS
I agree, Taps (oops, did I just write 'I'?)  Self puts reality into an article.  P.S. I've just had it refused for the 4th time.  This time because of 'Grammar.'  That's what I get for letting spellcheck dictate its idea of grammar.  If it is refused again, it will stay refused.

What's wrong with "self" in an article?  That's the one thing that I don't like about Constant Content--it's too sterile.  There is never, never, never anybody's "self" to give it a bit of interest.  I can't imagine you writing without "self" being in it.

Pat_B
Thank you Pat.  You hit the nail on the head when you wrote 'have fun.'  It finally dawned on me as I was re-reading Chris Baty, that I needed to lighten up and have fun and if I didn't like reading something I wouldn't like writing it - Page 88.  This I am going to laugh at as I write it.

Azur
You've cheered me up on a dank, cold, freezing drizzle, morning Azur.  I'd always assumed that novels were around the 90K to 100k words and I was quite put out when I guesstimated 132K.  I feel lighter already.  BTW, I intend being in the NY bestsellers list.  After all I can see New York State from here, so why not?  I've never heard of an Ontario bestsellers list.

Good luck Mac with achieving your goal...
In the end, though, it's not the number of words, but whether or not they tell the tale. And you've shown us many times how well you do that. Have fun!

Just as I have set myself a deadline for a first draft by the end of September 2010 - for my thesis, that is.  At least I don't have to make up characters. Good luck..!!

Yes!
That sounds doable!

Oh my
132,000 words. That's a big novel. I know a lot of people like big novels. My own are between 70-80k. But heh, I am not on the NY bestsellers list. Well not yet!
