New Market is now housed under an ugly conrete building and doesn't have half the charm it used to.  Ah well!  Life moves on..yes?

Thanks for posting these photos, which remind me of my two visits to Calcutta many years ago. Brinjal is my favorite vegetable; the ones sold here are not nearly as colorful as the ones on sale in the market. I remember visiting New Market.
