Luci, I know you're eager to get feedback on your work...
but for bloggers, such large blocks of text are a turn-off. I used to post long excerpts, too, because I didn't want to stop the story right in the middle. Then Joe_Love, another blogger, mentioned that to me. As soon as I limited my fiction to one or two pages at a time, more people came to read.
The story is compelling. You're a good writer. I'll be back to read a bit more later.
