In fact, global warming melts ice caps and glaciers,
notably the Greenland glaciers, and the dire effect on the North Atlantic Conveyer current is that all that fresh water dilutes the heavier salt water, so the ocean waters do not sink there in the area south of Greenland. This is what halts the Conveyer which brings the warm tropic waters up alongside the British Isles and western Europe. Thus the waters are colder, and the climate becomes locally cooler.
Meantime, increased warmth in the tropics and other areas increases the amount of water vapor in the atmosphere, precipitating more precipitation... in the cooler northern climes, this means more snow, more ice over the land. Sure, it will replace the Greenland ice... maybe as far south as Ohio...
Denyers have the hardest time with this equation, of global warming => ice age.
