I loved this.
We had the most wonderful blue moon here last evening between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m.  It was absolutely wonderful.  I was riding in a car full of people to a party when we saw it and I didn't try to take a picture but it sure was enchanging.

Orion is an old friend...
Hanging outside my window when I lay in bed as a child, on those winter nights.

Oh I do miss the Southern Cross and the saucepan.
But I love the North Star.

Vickie
Beautiful and tempting - but I shall not go out star-gazing tonight at -14C, which is almost exactly 7F. Of course, the wind chill will be -25C, which is -13F. I think I'll wait till next year, May or thereabouts...

A few words that put me right into your night :-)  Personally I see Scorpio from my yard... and many a winter night I had fallen sleep watching its heart, Atares brilliant red light and wondering if someone up there is falling asleep wondering about my blue pebble in the sky.  Fabulous and thought provoking xoxoxoxo
