When there are a lot more yesterdays, than there are, tomorrows.
Weaver,
I prefer that to a personally imposed nickname, like "Pinky." Usually, if I like someone's work, I try to give them a name, original to me.
While age can impart wisdom, experience, extrapolation, patience, conceptualization, intellectual leaps forward, efficient ways to accomplish a task, etc. isn't it a shame, that by the time one knows how something should be done, and properly, they are infirm, and dependant upon younger, stronger, facilitators.
Eventually, even the most robust among us will realize that it takes far longer to do something, because we now work slower, and for shorter stretches of time. This frustrates the HELL outta me! Add to that, the worry that at any time, one can begin heading down the road to dementia, or suffer a stroke, I am in danger of losing that hard-earned patience, and acting crazy, as my time grows shorter.
I drive for my living, such as it is. I HATE to get caught behind this one ELDERLY "senior citizen," because he lives on my route, and if he ever exceeds 30 mph, I haven't ever seen it. This is a two-lane curvy, hilly, rural, blacktop road. If our positions were reversed and he was following me as I just put-putted along, he should be leaning out his window, yelling for me to get the Hell out of his way, because he is "Older than GOD," and hasn't any time left to waste any! Not this guy, though. He must think that he has all the time in the world.
