I can so understand that where one ends up is not what they thought at all! I knew I would come back to Idaho one day but never, ever thought I would live in a big city in my life! I relocated from a town of 3,500 residents to 220,000 residents! Happy New year! Shelly

I'll download "The Little Match Girl" when I get back home from visiting my family over the holidays.  From the summary I read...it seems a sad story...a lonely heart and GrandMa's love. Thanks for sharing this Elinjo.

Thanks for sharing us a site where audio books are. I've seen them become more popular over the years.

I read this story as a boy - and I do remember it, and also that it made me sad...

I, too, remember "Little Match Girl" very well.  Wonder why it has kind of faded into the background of Christmas reading....  Merry Christmas, Elinjo!

Do you mean this one Pat?

I remember that story, vividly, from all those years ago.
And Hans Christian Andersen is one of my all-time favorite authors. There was a movie about him, starring Danny Kaye, in the 1950s -- lots of great songs. Remember "Thumbelina"?

Elinjo - just finishing up some Christmas wrapping when I thought I would read some posts - glad I read yours and I intend on "listening" to the Little Match Girl tomorrow.  Thank you.  Have a blessed tomorrow - or today in Denmark
