Whistling pigs?

Sounds as pointless as teaching your granny how to suck eggs.  Going back to one of your earlier posts re starting a business - my experience would probably be of no use to you, but ...  When I became a self employed driving instructor, I kept working for the British School of Motoring in the big city (20 miles from my home town) and bought a car of my own at home.   I didn't advertise except for the 'Caledonian S.O.M' signs on the car at home.  Gradually I filled the home car up and then handed in my notice.  Had to hire another instructor within weeks.  Best move I ever made, apart from coming here.

If I had a pig who insisted on learning how to drive, I told them the truth - that I was incapable of teaching them.  Oink Oink and a merry Christmas majroj.

Rhanda, Not strong, just have retirements locked in already.

I'm blessed with a talented supportive wife and offspring who are drug free and able to work for pay.

I came back to this job after two and a helf years away. People said "You got your twnety years in, now you can do whatever you want"!.

"No" I replied, "I can leave whenever I choose".

Good luck
If only life were so simple as declaring a change...unfortunately, where humans are involved nothing is simple. They just love to complicate things, but if anyone can pull it off, it is you. You are one of the strongest, most ethical people I know.

I am walking that road now, maj. Just doing my work and "sorry, can't"

when it used to be above and beyond the call of duty, and I no longer want to do it. Things are falling apart here and there, but it is truly NOT my responsibility and I remind them that they have to 'get on it' as I will be in Mexico next year, then what?

I do what keeps my personal reputation intact and not much more. I grow tired. I see now how older people do have to pass on the torch or no one will carry it and the dark will take over.

Miss know- it -all now tries to know less, verbally. Ill this week and so very tired. Just hanging in there with this wild new job until Dec. 18th, when it becomes someone else's job. I have resigned twice and am still disbelieved. I will be home on the 19th eating chocolates and reading and dreaming about what to take to Mexico....

It is good to grow older, still know it all and know what that means when we are older.

High five here.
