It's amazing how fast a cleaning job can return to its previous state.

Okay, now I am giggling...It's true that I'm a resistant, reluctant follower. Yet I DO follow....if I want to...eventually....in my own time! FlyLady and I have a love/hate relationship. The best part is that she's completely unaware of it...so I get no small amount of amusement in this....at least...I HOPE she's unaware....! It IS kind of creepy how she seems to know what I need most, the majority of the time....is she peeking in our windows? Is she reading my blog entries? I can't help but wonder....! I've been thinking of you, Kabu, and your Wiley up there in your neck of the woods....are you staying warm? I'll bet it's rather chilly nowadays! Here's a warm hug for you, with a cup of hot chocolate with some hazelnut flavoring mixed in on the side....maybe that will help!

Oh, yes, I remember reading that you'd lost a pet recently. Although you sure do miss them; I know what you mean about the mess. Husband said just this morning that he loved walking barefoot on our bathroom floor without that 'grainy' feeling of the litter Daisy scattered about. I noticed that I still automatically look before I step when opening the door. I'd been doing this jerky, hesitating walk when I entered, and hadn't even realized it. Funny, we would gladly put up with a lot of things in behalf of our pets but when we don't have to, that's okay, too. And your comments and encouragement are making my cleaning/organizing journey much more enjoyable, that's for sure! Thank you so much for that, Taps! Hugs!

Elyse!
So nice to hear from you...was gone for three days and I truly missed my Blogit friends! I do love your word, 'prettifying'....that says it all, does it not? I haven't been home for days so today is a 'catchup' day. I should be doing my Art History Research paper, which is a huge part of my grade, but my soul needed to catch up...on sleep, cleaning, and writing. Three days of not being able to express myself at will was a bit rough. I've become accustomed to it! So it's good to be home. Football games and video games sound lovely...it means someone over there is happily living. Good! And I'll pray for you with those contractors...they're doing their best but it's no fun with a work in progress. I've been there! The best we can do is to keep trudging along. But why should we have to trudge? Let's...um....TAP dance along....yeah! Why not! Happy dancing, Elyse! And I'll be tap dancing over here, as well. All the way over to the chocolates. Ha ha! Big hugs!!!

Yeah, I thought about that...I was thinking I'd go into their rooms while they were there and just talk and putter. It would be a good thing to do both. Give them a little shot in the arm, as far as cleaning goes...have them assist and we could pick up TOGETHER. And I agree, they haven't had a clean floor for a while..they may not know what they're missing. Similar to the bathroom being ferret-less. Husband and I are loving that. We didn't know life could be so much more...simple....! Thanks for your comments, Myrrhage!

YOU ARE A THING OF BEAUTY AND A JOY FOREVER
Your posts are a hoot      and I adore the way you fight the Fly Lady at the same time as working with her.

It is you, Oh Darson, not the FlyLady, who makes cleaning fun.
I must admit, that as much as I miss Pitiful, her demise has made my housecleaning much easier.  No new long black hairs anywhere (I say "new" because I'm still finding clumps in the out-of-the-way places), no more litter kicked about, no yucky hairball presents.  And, I have a nice large closet back for use of household things instead of litterbox and storage of cat food and boxes of litter, and cat toys.  And, I can now close that closet door completely instead of leaving it open six inches or so for her entrance and exit.  So, I have been lightening the load of our entrance closet to make room for visitors' coats this holiday season by moving the excess stuff stored there, to what used to be Pitiful's room.

Darson...I just simply got my morning chuckles reading this --- you have this keen way of bringing such joy and smiles round from your daily ventures of clutter busting.  and this quote:" But changing the outward can change the inward" ; summarizes it all for me, for I believe that ~ good job -
I am also giggling at your obsession with hoarders program...oy, it would rain conviction upon me so I don't even want to know where this program would be.
I simply have found that through the years of my prettifying - organizing that it made a difference - as I see my daughters in their surroundings and as far as the gents - well okay, I'm working still on them all - (actually my eldest son is a real help meet) - You're bringing great example to your family ~
so, as I go to pick up from last nights football games - video games - and reorganizing a few clutter spots, maybe drawers ??? maybe not- I've got to prepare for carpenters to come in and repair some holes they've put throughout my home for repiping to plumbiing - and I'm shuddering for the reorganization once again that plagues my home, my life 'daily'  these days~  Write on Darson, I'm enjoying your Erma Bombeck like blogs - You're a joy to me ~ and I know such as with Daisy too ~ awww Elyse xoxox

Pretty fun stuff to read here, Darson, and enlightening in a light-hearted way.  I love the Fly Lady.  Signed up for her program a couple of years ago, but never did get around to changing the gray matter enough to see the culmination.  Maybe this year... it couldn't hurt, I'm here alone most of the time anyway.

Yes, you've inspired this fallen domestic goddess to at least consider another go at it...

(a thought on the boys' floors: Don't feel too guilty about doing it for them temporarily.  Sometimes a kid has to experience a thing for a while before he can feel motivated to keep it that way himself.)
