According to my word count chart, you're within a couple hundred words of being ahead of the curve.
Way to go, Johnnie Mac! As for the telly stealing your plot -- that just means you're on the right track. And once you hit 50K you can go back and revise to your heart's content. Or maybe you won't even want to.
