Elyse!:
Interesting; I think that Husband will understand about the perfectionist thing, too...because I only have to focus on one thing at a time, lately (baby steps!), I find I am doing things exceptionally well (boy, did I scrub that vanity yesterday!)...and he's seeing the 'perfectionist' in me that he hasn't seen before....this has been a curious process. As for the Contractors?? Oh, honey, can I ever relate. I was the General Contractor for a home that we moved, then built a new basement on...so it was remodel upstairs, new construction downstairs, and sheer @#$# all around! Not a good time.

Darson you are absolutely the most precious ~ and I will get to this FLYLady.com when I simply can get my home back from the plumbers/furnace men/ now carpenters - painters to repair messes ---and then maybe for New Years I will begin creating 'beautiful' again.  I love the ideas --- Organization is truly the best --- oh to aspire!!! I'm excited following this along with you.  I understand totally about the perfectionist part.  I truly do. ~ xoxox Elyse

Me, either, and I can't take the credit for that...it's FlyLady, the ultimate psychologist....

I never thought that a sloppy person could be a perfectionist. Your points make a lot of sense.

Kabu
....which has been EXACTLY my problem. My house was getting such a bummer to be in, I'd find excuses to be gone...it was depressing to look around at the things that were wrong. To handle them seemed overwhelming! But I couldn't be gone all the time, now....it's getting cold outside and I'm being forced to spend more time indoors...so this is the perfect point to begin. Can't tell you how good it feels...oh, and 'Bu, YES what you did counts this morning!...FlyLady (bless her heart!) says that to do a load of laundry, tackle your dishes, and put something into the crockpot are the three biggest things you can do in the morning....it sets the tone for the day....so, NICE WORK!....and we get down to the wire on the undies sometimes, too!....We are such Domestic Godesses, are we not? Hugs to you Kabukin!

I have made the bed and have a load in the machine....watered a couple

ofplants that were droopy....does any of that count? I doubt it forwe were justabout out of undies and I had to wash.

I agree about the perfectionist thing though. I have/ no had a friend back in Australia who's house is jammed with years of dust covered clutter. She is such a perfectionist that to start she would have to go right through everything and that is beyond her....so she does nothing.
