OH MY WORD! That would just be the worst! Having that happen to me would certainly prompt me to make one of my infamous, "...Guess I don't win Mother of the Year THIS year..." comments. Funny, because I've made such a joke out of the whole Mother of the Year thing for twenty years...and then I find out my husband's mother WAS the M o t Y...!

Off would probably not go well with pancakes, nor would sour milk. I think you should re-name them 'OffCakes', or some such thing...with a side of curd for a chaser....mmmmm!

And of COURSE those things always happen when your child has a friend over...nothing you can just keep between you and a family member.....rats! Thanks for sharing this with me; that is soooo funny!

That is where I am headed. Come Monday there will be daily chores assigned. I'm not trying to use the divorce as an excuse, but I used to be a lot more organized before....and we've gotten off track. Slave labor will be required. I will inform them tomorrow and we will talk about my needing much more help in the work the household requires.

No YOU did NOT ~  oh no, Please Darson --- you make me  and then giggle like a cuckoo as you go on like nothing happened.  --- I am so impressed by your get up and go gumption ~ You're just sooo precious - and loving to boot -  I like how your daughter is reading the Jane Austin series ~ Yes'm ...   with your boyz in love with Audrey Hepburn and your daughter into reading the classics, wow, I'm seeing future, cultured sophisticates in this big world ~ Mamma, you do good.

*I have to share this, your account here reminded me of the time I was so sleepy, groggy from a winter cold --- my daughter had her best girl friend over...I was to make the typical best pancakes in the world for them ~  I began with spraying my pan with Pam ~ I made the first batch, no hitch...then I tasted a bit of one --- I heard nothing from the girls---nothing like their usual, 'these are the best' --- ' you oughta sell these' and all that good stuff.  I heard nothing.  as I tasted a bit - my mouth burned --- a peppery type taste.  I looked to see if I had accidentally spilled pepper...no, I did not...I looked at the PAM to see if this was a new flavor...no, it wasn't; then I looked near the PAM and there was this green can --- I looked at it  --- I looked away and quickly ran down the hall ~  "DON"T EAT THE PANCA..." and my daughter just about met me at the bedroom door, both plates in hand and thank God, only a bite and a bit off each...She was sticking her tongue out and said, "sorry Ma, you must be feeling badly...these aren't our favorites."  I said in a controlled voice..."come get some milk quickly" ---> I accidentally sprayed OFF on the skillet ~ " and when I rushed them to milk - I gave them a big glass each --- and spew --- the little girlfriend started getting ill --- I thought, --- no, in fact, she was spewing the milk, that had soured due to the expiration date --- I Kid you NOT --- what a bad day this was ~ and we all lived to tell the story ~  thanks for the memories DARSON ~ your blog I tell you, simply shares LIFE and All that inspires ~ Elyse
