Very wisely said, Rumor.

my wife and I saw this play live in Stratford, Ontario (considered world

class), and when out of a completely darkened theater every light suddenly comes on and illuminates Lady Macbeth as she cries "Out, damn spot!" (refering to her 'blemish or sin'), to no avail, for a moment we do feel sorry for her and Macbeth as their plan is completely unravelling....

but then again whatever we sew we also reap......

Re: sam
This is a most beautifully thoughtful comment "why not grab a driven female to abet in the confidence building as it were."  Could we not together do a whole essay and assay on it?

I am conflicted here with Shakespeare! I know it is the times, although I do not see a lot of difference today, because if a man, i.e. character has the means to become a hero, then let the battle begin! Let it become one of gain through misdeed and they seem to be less gallant and thus why not grab a driven female to abet in the confidence building as it were! It gets to me because a man would never allow a woman to interfere with heroism for that would mean sharing the stage (lol not pun intended) but he would pull her in to do mischief! I think it exists today for Shakespeare had a great understanding of what drives the sexes and how they will exploit one another for their own gain! Suffice to say both sexes fall woefully short of integrity when the means to an end is laced with poison so to speak! Another grand effort my friend! sam

I could just go on and on, the literature is so rich ... one of my all-time faves. Many thanks for your continued readership, and as for my comment, you are fully deserving of it .

Abanerjee - Very well explained and food for thought too because I do believe that though there is a change of scenario in today's world, the nature of man is more or less the same. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog with your lovely comment.

Matthew 5:38-40 An Eye for an Eye 38"You have heard that it was said, 'Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' 39But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.
