Comments on THE TRUTH ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN HEALTH CARE BILL

Go to CONSERVATISM -- A DINOSAUR THAT SHOULD BE EXTINCTAdd a commentGo to THE TRUTH ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN HEALTH CARE BILL

And I, the second . . .

By contrast, your vaunted Democrat (oh, excuse me, bipartisan  - thanks to one solitary Republican vote, versus numerous Democrats who voted against it) bill will do the following:

  • Violate the Constitution. This may come as a shock, but there are still a few people in this country to whom this is important. The Constitution does not allow government control of health care, nor does it allow Congress to transfer to the Executive the pwers contained in the legilsation. In addition, the legislation may well violate key aspects of the 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th amendments. But that is of no import to a statist.
  • Add hundreds of billions in spending when the government already has record deficits (thank you, President Obama, for more than doubling it!) and declining tax revenues.
  • Deny care to older Americans.
  • Place everyone's healthcare decisions in the hands of unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats in the Executive branch.
  • Iimpose fines and jail sentences for not buying what the Government orders you to buy.
  • Place the Government up in unfair, unconsitutional competition with the private sector.
  • Impose thousands of dollars in costs on those who buy their own insurance.
  • Provide coverage for illegal immigrants, who are exempted from tax penalties for not enrolling.
  • Slash Medicare, correspondingly slashing coverage for senior citizens.
  • Eliminate jobs by increasing the costs businesses incur to hire anybody.

You know something, Xenox? I'm surprised that you're so unquestioningly trusting of the government that you trust it with your health care. Given your years of rants against the government, you must be imbibing Obama Kool-aid by the gallon.
