Re:

Oh TAPS ~ coo it is.

I drove home from a neighbors today and as I pulled into my driveway...It was astonishing ---  I thought one of my dogs (my beagle had been hit by the 'mound' of fur in front of me...) it was 2 hawks battling...and the bevey of crows were lined up --- and there were small birds around all chattering loudly...I watched and wished I had had a camera.  Then came the dragonflys and bees...I kid you not...it was as if 'wings' were all around and this power before my eyes made me quiver...tremble.  Finally, the top hawk --- pecking at the belly of the other hawk (that was lying in submission - yet struggling) I think got spooked --- and as it looked up, the other submissive hawk was able to fly off --- the crows chasing and then all the other little birds flying crazily all over...the dragonfly just flitting off from cedar to cedar, oak to pine...I called my husband immediately and told him...so in awe.  I saw not one dove --- (which usually come to my home during the day...a group of them usually...) and I told my husband that since this hawk is preying 'round and in fact has a nest in one of our trees --- I think they are frightened off...not certain but, I want to seek them --- hoping they'll come back soon.  The hawks are powerful birds --- they in fact can frighten me...they can get so aggressive.  I prefer the soft coos of my little doves ~ the screech of those hawks give me chills ---

Thank you for your visit...always such a pleasure ~ Elyse

Classic! the last line, and all those that precede it supportive of it. Why, can't you ever fail to astound? I  all you writes, did you now that? Aba .
