It sounds as though you are planning to rewrite history, which could be interesting. Just think if they had succeeded in blowing Hitler up a couple of years before?

Not bad. I thought rooster in the hen house was a bit obvious.
If the enemy was monitoring the radio transmission, and they probably would, this would put them at Defcon 5. The coded messages adopted family gossip or shopping terms I think -- no giant supermarkets in those days, small bakeries for bread, butcher shops for meat, etc.
I really enjoy the way you're building in complications.
