You've got it all down exactly right. Except, we have an unusually warm spell here right now--mid seventies and brilliant sunshine. Even the night didn't get cold last night. But, cold is coming. I feel it in my bones.

The use of the adjective "shamelessly caressing" for Northly winds, the clear skies, the stark trees, dead leaves, and you walking through, creates a background that can only be called awesome, my fine poetess friend xoxoxo - :)
