WileyJohn your children have no idea what they are missing out on; that you are the most loving, fun, attentive and considerate guy I have ever met.

My mother used to do that as well or given she was a North American accomplished bridge player she might also say “I’m so respected” and I often found this odd. I think people who truly feel loved and/or respected don’t feel the need to mention it at all.

People who go round saying that 'everybody loves them' may well be suffering from an outsize inferiority complex. That of course is a general statement and perhaps your mum's claims were due to something completely different. I look forward to reading about it.

I know, I'd have to agree...it does sound ominous...was it? My father has awards covering his walls in his office just to prove to the world how spectacular he is....it's a type of narcissism, I'm sure...I'm curious to see where this is going...? Good writing, my friend!

I don't know why such a pleasant-sounding comment should seem
so ominous. Like something wicked this way comes. I hope I'm wrong.

You can never get everyone to love you Kabu and it doesn't really matter if they do..something I really do believe in.You just need people that matter to you to love you. Look forward to the rest of the story my Kabu.

Kabuiepie-;)
That is so very sad about your mum,and you know I used to wonder something like that when I was alone and all the kids were so distant from me physically and emotionally. I used to wonder why nobody loved me. Then along came Kabu with wonderful sharing and now I understand why camping wouldn't be your favourite pastime. Another lovely post darlin'
