i guess a few questions are in order, RSM -- I thought the health care plans originated in Congress rather than from the President -- he handed them the ball to run with.
I've heard of a few alternatives to this plan from the conservative side, but I see flaws.
The big question is -- how do you provide health care for all? Is there a better plan out there? Admittedly, when politicians frame legislation, something is always wrong with -- doesn't matter what party is responsible. But I have known so many people that lack health care. So many have dies due to the present system.
You decry that patients would have no choice -- my question here is how much less choice would they have than under the present system? HMO's dictate the doctors people can see, dictate certain terms, dictate the amt. of payment Doctors receive. How would a universal plan be more limited ? Insurance companies choose to refuse payment for certain services -- this severely limits the care people can get. How much more limited would universal health care be than that?
People in certain income brackets make too much for medicaid and can't afford insurance and it's not provided for them by their employers. Many employers want to provide insurance, but find it too expensive. Again, how would universal be more limiting?
Would you please delineate any alternative plan you might have that would alleviate the above problems and be better then what is proposed and alleviate the present costs and stop the deaths due to inadequate health care?

We all know that Xman, I will be the first to say that something needs to be done but obama seeing this as his chance to grasp socialism and/or communism to attack this is WRONG. What democrats are thrwoing out there sucks more than it does now, get it? It was never said that conservaives think nothing should be done. The system does need tweaking but your boy in charge is a damn S.O.B. who has no experience nor does he know what he is doing...he just wants something, anything done by Friday of each week just so he can claim it was all him who gave us healthcare which will be crapcare! THAT IS THE PROBLEM! Understand! If democrats would come up with a good solution without opressing the nation with more and more and more government and more and more money that our children will have to pay one day then okay but that will not happen because they have no idea what to do. Never have and never will! This is something that will take time because of its' high level of importance to get it right but YOUR BOY wants it rammed through just so he will finally have something to beat his worthless chest about. Get with the program X!
