so I have to either be quiet or "concede defeat" when I hear racists use
the "N" word, or make other types of disparaging remarks regarding African-Americans.
the problem is, racism is quite common, among all races and cultures, and I, being privy to the European-American Culture, encounter such -- what do I call it then if I can't call it racist? -- remarks and attitudes, which I do more often than I want.
