I know he loves me, but sometimes you cant help to be almost jealous of someone who has taken my place in some sense of the word

My eldest son adores me I know he does but trying to talk about

anything personal with him is like pulling teeth.He manages my affairs in Australia and does a great job and will talk finance for hours but no nothing of a personal nature. no never. But they do love us.(he's the same age.)

There's a very common saying here that: 'Children can only be borrowed'. In other words we are only entitled to enjoy our children's company for a certain time, then they go their way. It's hard for those of us that are left alone without the comfort of a husband's company, but that's the way it is. We have to find other strategies to survive.
