There is so much poetry written and yet nobody ever gets paid that I know
of. It just isn't something that sells. If I ever make real money from writing I just might throw that Blogit ball!!!!!

Wow. I guess it's a good thing that poets enjoy writing and reading their own poems. Once, a long time ago, I sent three poems I had written, to a magazine called
Mature Living just to see what would happen. They published two of them and rejected the third. Payed me $15 apiece for the two. That satisfied me and I've never since submitted any for publication. But I love writing poetry.

Ah yes, know of this rejection ~ and I've tried every pen nib available --- but as I once said in response to a Professor of Art's critique of my 'art' --- "it's all my perspective" --- own it Ariala ~ writing poetry is baring your soul and not all understand the depth truly...I don't believe actually that there is one that can or should discourage another from putting to pen their vision, their soul, open to read...it boggles me always ~ And I have written and added to not for profit orgs and also, chap books of anthologies; nope have never received $$$. But know this, you at least have audience by some that appreciate your artistic skill - guaranteed,

I'm one of your fan(s)
~ Write on and consider the greats --- I wonder how much they got recognized while 'alive' ~

Rejections are so very discouraging indeed. It need not necessarily be bad because a publisher does not consider them worth publishing, and your concluding lines ring true.
