Okay so homosexuals are not included in the original quote
Admittedly, the quote is used universally to frame a cause, and homosexuality is used sometimes in the quote.
But I don't see happening what you infer is happening.
Nobody is coming for anybody. We all still have our freedoms.
The only segment of our society that seems to want to curtail freedoms are conservative Christians, who want their view to prevail and none other.
I guess if I were to insert something into the quote, the "they" who is coming for everybody would be conservative Christians, and the people they are coming for would include Muslims, homosexuals, liberals, Catholics, Buddhists, Hindus, Unitarians, Ethical Society, Orthodox Christians, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Atheists, Agnostics, Deists, non-religious -- and this list would be virtually endless, for there are so many groups the conservative Christians deem as anathema to their narrow viewpoint.

In your quote there, you forgot homosexuals -- why did you leave them out?
It's part of the quote.
But on a more serious note, it's conservatives who are the greatest enemy of our country -- because they support the big corporations that don't give a flying f*** about our country -- all they care about is their bottom line -- and conservatives are supporting their unpatriotic cause.

RSM, there is much worth defending in life
Where would you get the idea that there is nothing in life I think is worth defending? I defend my views all the time. I defend the true idea of freedom all the time. I defend many things I see as being worth defending all the time. Stop trying to be insulting when you already know for a fact that you are wrong to make such a statement.
I have several times very openly defended Christians here on Blogit. If you don't remember it, then that is your problem. Go and look back through all my posts and see for yourself.
What would you have me do to defend my views? I openly state my views. I voted against Bush in 2004 and for Obama in 2008, both of which were to defend the ideas I see as having value for our society, to defend my freedom. I almost get the feeling you think we should start a armed revolt if we disagree with the way the government does things. Outside of the fact that I have no means to start a second civil war, I see no purpose in doing such because of the harm it would cause. Also, it matters not that we have an armed civilian population. The means available to the civilian population would never be able to do any harm to our armed forces and would end up being a waste of life.
As for your claim that I am opening myself to ideas that will claim my freedoms, that is you showing your full paranoia. I am no more open to letting Muslims ideas dominate our government than I am to letting Christian ideas dominate. And I understand my enemy's motivation very well. Conservative fundamentalists wish to destroy my freedoms at every turn. I am well aware of this and I fight against them when I vote and I speak out against their destructive ways where ever I can. If Muslims ever become as dangerous to my freedoms as Conservative fundamentalists are right now, I will be doing all I can to stop that as well.

Is there anything at all in this life that is worth defending to you? Anything? I find it odd that you say you have defended Christians. I have been on this website for many years and never recall that moment. You seem to not understand the enemy at all. This is what I am talking about here. The problem between you and I is that you constantly say I am confused when you do not understand what the enemy desires. You call it being paranoid. Can you understand that your thought opens you completely to any threat that comes along which will end your freedoms? What is your defense to someone who would threaten you? You have stated many times that the Patriot Act threatened your freedom. So what did you do to defend your freedom?

I myself have defended th rights of all manner of people who I do not share views with, including Christian conservatives. In general all the atheists I know do this as well. They very much understand the logic that if you let one group of people loose their rights, even if that loose of rights does not effect you directly, it will becoming easier for some other group to take away your rights. That is why we are very much for separation of church and state. it is why we were against the (un)Patriot Act and why we have yet to understand what is wrong with homosexual marraiges. It is what the ACLU is all about.
You very much have openly said you want to see an end to the liberals. I could see you actually helping to get rid of anyone who does not share you ideas. You so openly talk about how evil and worthless anyone who is not like you is. You are ready to watch and cheer as people you disagree with are taken away. And yet in thsi post you seem to imply otherwise. Of course the post itself is a paranoid attitude towards Muslims, that goes against the over all idea of the post itself. You are sayign they should take away the Muslims, and no one should be upset if we are not Muslims, because if given the chance they would do the same to us... At that point you are no better than those who you wish to condemn with this post
Just because you are not allowed to force and push your religious views on others, does not mean you have lost any rights or freedoms. It really surprises me at how confused you are about what was being said in the speech you quoted.

Are you so foolish to think that the people of these other nations who have been indoctrinated to hate Americans since birth are free thinkers or even someone you could actually trust or even know what free speech is? Do you actually think that if given the chance that Russia would not pounce on the opportunity to go after us while we are suffering from weak leadership? We are succeeding in rearranging the nations priorities so that future generations ov American citizens cancompete in the global market as healthy, educated free thinkers and free speech advocates. You, on the other hand, ratchet up hate, mistrust (of each other) and fear of minorities with each enry.
