Kabu
I'm just catching up here, late as so often these days - but no less bewitched by the way you bring these people and their complexities to life...

Wow this takes me back to when I was in South Dakota and I heard things like this alot. I was always told that it was the harsh reality of life. Either way is sucks. Things happen for genetic reasons or they happen by accident. At least that is how I look at it. Glad to see that you are doing great!

Poor Olive ~ stress of birth x 3 and now, a child with special needs --- it must have been difficult given the era and the stigma behind it all.  This is such great writing, I cannot reiterate enough -- I will wait to see what comes next but it's oh so difficult to be patient.  You're the Mamma of story tellin' ~  ~ I love ewe Kabuski ~ Elyse

I had a mixed feeling reading this, can't say what. While sad, the narration is gripping. Write on.

You have the most wonderful way of building and showing these characters. They are so delightful and total. I love it.

A lot of readers are enjoying this story, me being your #1 fan! Thanks for your comment on Ephesus. I remember well that you said you have travelled in this part of the world extensively and you are very right: they reckon that most of ancient Ephesus is still buried under the rolling hills.

Kabu - They do say that about the sins of the fathers and I remember thinking what an awful thought! I read the other parts yesterday and it is a very enjoyable read. Have a pleasant evening sweet Kabu.

Such a hard thing for a couple, a family.  Marriages often don't survive an offspring's mental or physical handicaps.  Rather than drawing a couple closer together, blame (whether of self or the spouse) can drive an irreparable wedge between.
