okay -- I understand -- Emmanuel is a name -- an appelation -- a description, for that is what a name is -- a description, in Scripture. Emmanuel, being, our understanding that God is with us and among us -- IS.
Howecer, his mother, Mary, didn't call him Emmanuel -- she called him Yeshua, or something similar -- a Jewish name, because she was Jewish, Joseph was Jewish, Yeshua was Jewish, his brothers and sisters wre Jewish.
My point is, and I will proceed further in this matter, that the King James Bible is written from a viewpoint biased on centuries of human concocted ideas of religion and the feudal culture of the time.

my point is this you can name him what you want, you twist things up how ever you want, but he was called,,,,, Emmanuel. you catch my drift ole boy, he was called emmanuel. As a believer it matters not that he was named, jesus or george or odis for that matter. He was called Emmanuel, get it!

Re: Posted by RITE2SPIN
it means "God with us".
That's fine.
The discussion here is between "Jesus" and "Yeshua", between the King James Anglican interpretation and the actual.
