Hi vogue
Arabic, Pushto, Urdu, are definitely the finest of languages to tongue-practice sounds in pronunciation that are not existent in the English or any other European languages. As for me to keep my brain trained and immersed in mystic, I practise at least one shloka (verse) or a mantra a day, and in this Sanskrit is par-excellent. If you just know the alphabets and the matras (a,e,i,o, u), the pronunciation, read from at any part in the world, the sound reproction will be exact.

I learned French as a college requirement in my late 40s.
Since I don't use it, I've since lost it. Probably should have picked up some French literature and read it on a regular basis. These days I think it would be useful to learn Spanish, since so many new neighbors have Latin roots.

I think it's great to keep the brain and body exercised and you're doing
it by learning a new language...they say doing new things does work the brain, so good for you!
