Ariala, I got bit once by the camera (but that will come later) However my
son got three tickets in the mail in one month!!!The bad part it was my car. Luckily, the infraction(s) was/were not reported to the insurance company. Our tickets are cheaper. ($35 a picture) Now in my case, I was driving my ex-wife's boyfriend's car and accidently ran  the redlight. Can I get an A-men? Uh-huh

Yes I did get a ticket back in Montreal years ago when camera's first came out. I fought it and won on the basis it didn't have a picture of ME driving the car. That's probably  legal now with citizen's rights just being wiped away..Happy Canada Thanksgiving

Not yet--only by a policeman who had his police car hidden in a not-noticeable spot.  It sure is a sinking feeling one gets when they see the flashing lights and hear the quick blurp of the siren.

I ran a red light (with camera) not too long ago.  haven't recieved anything, yet.

No, I've never had an experience like that, because I can't drive.

However a policeman stopped me once when I cycled over a red light. It was on on a country road without a car in sight, apart from the policeman's that is. I looked so scared that he let me off.

Ouch! $100.00 !! that is steep.  The bad thing about those tickets is like your Dad says... they are always right.  Before if a policeman gave you one you could go to court and fight it... Now if you do go to court they just produce the photos and you are cooked.  nd like you said , your poor dad probably just ran a yellow light which turned red in the middle of his passing.  Yikes!!!  Don't you sometimes hate technology???

Ariala

Yep, I got one of those once, not for running a red light (something I have never done and don't approve of!) but for speeding, which I do only too frequently, .

But when I got the ticket and the picture, I laughed! And I took my ticket and the picture down to a cop shop, put it on the counter and laughed again, and the cop looked at me as if I was nuts, and said, "What's so funny, sir?" And I laughed some more and said, "This is funny! Take a look!" And he did, and then he too chuckled and said, "I see what you mean." And he took the ticket and the picture, cancelled them in his system and tossed them in the waste basket, for good reason - there were two cars in the picture, mine and somebody else's...

In the meantime, this camera nonsense has been abolished here in Ontario, at least for speeding, though I do believe they have them at intersections to help catch evil red-light-runners like your dad...

Your poor daddy ~ I know he didn't mean to do that --- and no I have not gotten one of those camera tickets yet, but in fact, got a speeding ticket about 6 months ago.  I don't speed but this road I was on is a 30 mph and I was going 38 --- trying to get to the dentist -  - and when the policeman on his motorcycle pulled me over, I held my jaw and asked, how fast?  he told me what was clocked and I said, 'sorry, but my dentist is waiting...'  He wrote the ticket so hurriedly that he almost forgot to give me my license back...and he forgot to have me sign it.  I took the defensive driving class and got my driver's record and it was clean all the way...so this offense did not go on my Insurance or driving record...however the whole ordeal cost me 235.00  ~ I try to really watch those speed traps and for motorcycle cops tucked into shrub ridden areas.  I believe the cameras in our town are turned off due to something or other.  As I say, Ariala, your poor daddy ~  Elyse

That is so unfortunate! But I guess the camera wins! I don't drive so I don't have that worry! Now, you ease off on that pedal for it is no fun to buy a ticket! sam

Nasty little nip in the budget, those tickets...
Good to see you got your page to work right again. I like seeing your picture there...

I haven't taken any tickets by camera. But I know many people who did. I am sure it is sad for your day   Have a good day.
