I smile, and find myself too remembering...I know I'm better off looking forward to my days of gray. Your always full of surprises Shelly, this is a nice one.

Ah yes, you brought back such wonderful memories...I climbed a tree - once --- I got scared of the height and also, did not like the way the bark scraped my hands... To think I was called 'Scout' at a young age, but I drew the line ~ This is such a lovely poem? It moved me. ~ Elyse

Sam, some of my happiest moments were climbing trees
to get away from poverty, cruelty and bullies. Wonderful
poems. Thanks for visiting me and for all your comments.

Hi darling...I remember so much and cherish it. A beautiful poem. Are you a little down still sweetie. You are making it really hard for me to be away for a bit these days!! I read you early in the morning after Sasha called as usual in the wee hours. Today is my nephew's 1st Holy Communion (he is eight) so there is a bit of extra commotion going on..lol. Take care and I will see you on Monday - ok. I love you too (this much O).

sam, I can remember clibing a certain tree to try to coax down our cat
I was about 6 or 7 at the time, and not a very good tree climber...I think reverse psyhology work, though because Boots saw me coming and actually hight tailed it down the tree, probably muttering under his breath, "If only he knew how ridiculous he looked!"
Boots became an indoor only cat soon after that...

This really takes me back. I used to be a huge tree climber! One bad fall (complete with brain injury) cured me of that. Now I still climb like crazy; it's the descending that's a real trick. Good thing Husband's patient!

Do you remember when?
I believe our memories exist "outside" of time's clutches. IMO, our memories do not note the passing of time, sam; rather, I'm afraid we begin to shut them out/down on purpose. And that's when the brain starts taking extended holidays. Dunno.

I'm glad you have a temporary replacement.
I remember a lot of those things. It seems like I've been climbing trees all of my life, but I sure do remember my first bike fall.
