I agree it is stupid. and in Australia the taxes are included so if

something is $9.99 at least you don't have to add tax. That is what you pay.

Everyone KNOWS, but somehow it's much easier to purchase something when we are thinking 9 instead of 10

I would bet if there were 99 cent stores... more would shop there than at the dollar stores. lol
