Why do they rush?
The sooner they pass the bill, the sooner their special interests get paid, the sooner they get their kickbacks.

If they really cared about reforming medicine, they would have listened to the people instead of collecting testimony for their snake oil.  Then they might have proposed a different sort of spending bill, one that pays each municipality, based on their population, an allotment for the services they provide and one more to add to fire and police: medical.

Of course, we need not and should not wait for Washington to adjust its spending priorities.  We each need to insist that our towns create municipal medical departments to provide our local medical care and to not spend one dime more for health insurance.

WHAT'S THE BIG RUSH//
In the sane world -- no rush.  In the insane world of politics the rush is the "high" and we have to both suffer and pay for the junkies' fix.joab
