I like the part about the tree and climbing higher, but also good to look at what we have right now under our feet.  Very thoughtful.

Very cool.. I felt like I was "deep in the woods", beside the Indian, as earth's stories came out to greet me.

Deep Into The Woods
"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep; but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep."   Written, I believe, by some major/minor poet, apropos for this significantly beautiful poem of yours.joab

sam, isn't it amazing how each tree has a mind and persona all its own...
I once put a message together called "What Kind of a Tree are You?, comparing us to different kinds of trees per scripture..it was fun, and I learned a lot...I'd love to get out there in Yellowstone some day....and just enjoy the view and whatever thoughts would come....

Oh but I love this one Shelly ~ the minute I saw title I rushed here and glad I did.  Yellowstone bears such a special meaning to me ~ always will.  It's where my hubby and I were to be married, but --- it's a long story that I may share another time.  The funnier tale is the one of my husband and his college buds, during his Colorado School of Mines daze - they, at one time, stood rather leaned over one of the belching cauldrons in between one of the burps...timing it just so -  and I told him, please don't tell the kiddos about that one. I have enough excitement to contend with.  Your descriptions are great, had me seeing again.  Great visions ~ makes me want to plan a retreat ~ Jacksonhole here I come!!! Shelly, you're on a roll.  *Do you have son living with you since your move? ~ Elyse
