Maybe they are saying...
Yes, I am not missing!

It may not matter to anyone outside their families, but it would be very interesting to know. I like mystery, but more so when I finally get the answer. Closure, I guess.

I love the old picture. I had a much older cousin who was in the Air Force during WWII. His plane went down somewhere over Alaska and was never, ever found. It's always been a family mystery. Back then though, one never heard of an MIA.

It would matter to me if they had been or were found. It would answer a lot of questions.

This is such a happy sad post. That's good writing to be able to evoke
so many emotions in a few words. The picture of your Grandparents also made me sad.I was 10 then, and your Grandma looks so young and beautiful. How the years have flown.

Amelia Earheart's fate is a subject that never fails to interest me. I don't know how many books and articles I have read on the subject and yes, I would definitely want to know what happened to her. I'm also fascinated because I have made several starts on obtaining a pilot licence myself and have never finished it, either due to lack of time or money. Now, I think I am too old, but I can pilot a small plane, but am obviously not allowed to do so officially.

Amazing discovery --- that's 54 years ago ~ (um I would know...1955). and this is also a lovely account of your Grandfather ~ I just love the whole remembrance of how he showed up - and then the picture. This post has just given me good goosebumps.
